Some more progress made on Chinook's face today. Working in Pastels is so different to coloured pencils, the techniques used are quite the opposite to the negative painting needed for coloured pencil.

Anne Cath the very talkative cat is complete. Her owner said if I speak to her, she answers and can be very loud if there's something she wants. She loves a cuddle, and she and Ace (who's portrait is coming up shortly) are the best of friends.

10 year old Tommy Fudge is complete. I absolutely loved drawing this handsome boy. Tommy is a real hunter. He catches the ocassional squirrel and also rats. He is very loving. When he sits on his owner he purrs loudly - sometimes dribbling - with a big smile on his face #art #cat

Scruff's portrait is complete. He's 15 years old and in his prime was very adventurous and cheeky and a very keen hunter. These days hes very relaxed/chilled and nothing seems to bother him.

Indi the gorgeous GSD is complete. Black fur is always the hardest to get right and requires lots of layers of pencil to build up the depth in their coat. Indi has quite wet fur in this portrait, but I've made him look a little less wet. Hope you like him

Rocco the 3 year old Cockapoo is complete. He was an absolutely joy to draw, I love his smiley face. His owner said he's full of character, and a big softie with a lovely temperament and never fails to make them smile.

This is Millie a miniature English Springer Spaniel. Millie was approximately 3 months old in this portrait, she was a very lively puppy and she lived till she was 11 years old. Her owner had very few photos of her, but absolutely adored this image of her when she was little.
