Okay, where are your book reports? Anyone?
Oh, come on, none of you did the required reading while I was away? Fine, what if I gave you a cheat sheet? Here you go, no more excuses! Go read The Wandering Inn! https://t.co/Zxx0xex0vq
Outside a new day is dawning
Outside suburbia's sprawling everywhere
Would have liked to do a bit more polish on this, but you know what, I want to come home from vacation with a clean slate and no unfinished pieces! And so, I declare this one complete!
Anyway, that's my screed about my favorite story. If you've been enjoying my art, or had your curiosity piqued about The Wandering Inn--pass it along! Oh, and give @WanderingInn a follow while you're at it.
By the way, the rewritten version is currently on the website only. The audio and Kindle rewrites are TBA, but if you really need that format, they're still fun! Just way more obvious that the author wasn't experienced. Much like my own art growth since the series started!
To accomodate all this, it does make sacrifices that, it's true, aren't for everyone. It's the slowest burn you'll ever see. It spends long swaths of time away from your fave character (and everyone's got a different one). But if it clicks for you, you're in for a heck of a ride!
The story covers a wide swath of genres, from small, intimate slice-of-life, to epic high fantasy adventures. Its tone is light and dark in--well, not equal measure--it's definitely more hopeful and light than... the other thing. But when it goes dark, it goes in HARD!
Yeah yeah--isekai and LitRPG, that's how you know you'll hate it, right? And I can't deny that there are tropes it fits to a T. But it's good, I promise! It takes the concepts of both to a lot more interesting places than the average anime... in ways it would spoil to explain.
You probably know the drill: a young woman from Earth ends up in a fantasy world, full of monsters and magic. What does she do? Open an inn, of course! And that's an appropriate setting for a story with such good characters! But it's more than just that!
Honestly you could chart the last six years of my growth solely on the TWI fanart I've done (these are from 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022)
And my best one yet is coming soon! https://t.co/CWEjAEjldA
