For the holiday spirit it's only appropriate I have this piece take place somewhere in the Alaskan frontier.

I'm not very active but I always liked the esthetic and atmosphere of this one in particular. Most of my art was stiff up until this piece, and I was afraid to paint water. I tried some dynamism and hoped for the best, so I think it payed off. https://t.co/CZPZilO07z

Process: 1) Initial sketch, 2) Corrections from @BranArtworks, 3) Initial painting and 4) Final piece.
(Notice I kept the huge melon, I guess I couldn't let that one go).

Painted a macroraptorial sperm whale mother (Zygophyseter varolai) swimming peacefully along a seagrass bed as her calf takes a nap on top of her sometime during the late Miocene.
