This dust jacket design for The Return of the King was made by #Tolkien in 1954. It depicts the throne of Gondor, the White Tree, the Seven Stars. A careful look will reveal Sauron’s outstretched arm above the mountains. There’s also a sketch of Sauron made in the same year.
