U.S artist Charles Burchfield (1893-1967) has been described as a Symbolist but there is a mystical aspect to his work, which mainly focused on nature, seeks to capture its sentient spirit. His many paintings of Woods burst with energy and light.

#FairyTaleTuesday Due to their eerie appearance, Owls were considered to be creatures of ill-omen. In Cheshire it was thought that if a person looked into an owl's nest they would suffer melancholy ever more whilst gout was treated by eating salted owl (!!) (art Gustav Dore)
