Granpa (1989), a colored-pencil animated adaptation of John Burningham's picture book, made by the same team as the better known "The Snowman". A sort of children's opera, with music written by Howard Blake.

With the New Year and all, I wanted to revisit some of my favorite Animation short films... especially ones that feel suited to this cozy, cold, dark, transitional time. Some may be a bit morbid, heads up.
