2/4 I was struck by how fascinated they were, some emailing me afterwards about how they were exploring the frieze groups. I know that understanding symmetries is a tough nut to crack, but, still it astounds me that so many artists & designers have so little access to learning+
1/4 This past Wednesday I taught the first of five weekly sessions, hosted by @center4bookarts. It's about working with paper in various unusual ways. One thing I talked about was frieze symmetry, just to give people a sense that there's more to symmetry than they realize. +
I've been enjoying that book arts & math friends have been showing up on Saturdays 4pm EST to do some folding with me. You are invited. More info & link at https://t.co/Z0y93HL9gW This week will start with this sweet pocket, that is the perfect container for our diminutive books
I actually did do another star today for Maydala month, but will post that tomorrow. Today I was focused on making patterns from some 2 variable trig functions, that I want to make into beach towels.
@TAnnalet What age students? First thing that comes to mind is Golden Ratio circles. I think you might remember this one. https://t.co/h8ffLW2yO3

After working in @c0mplexnumber book, I've been continuing making more #curvesofpursuit. Autumn colors.
