I was out of the loop yesterday, so I missed #wardukewednesday. Let’s fix that. The great Matt Kehler givin’ the ‘Duke his due!
For real @JamesGunn, can we get the Creature Commandoes?! Maybe some G.I. Robot? One half period piece film, one half jettison into the modern age with all sorts of occult tomfoolery? Think the Dirty Dozen meets Raiders of the Lost Ark with a Hammer Horror vibe! Could be dope! 💀
Seeing this piece by Michael Whelan for the first time and, somehow, he just keeps getting better. The more I look at it, the more fascinating it is. #theeaglesarecoming
@LogarHailCrom Cover and interior illustrations by @EdwinBickford; additional illustrations by Lawrence Hernandez @jvwest @dan_smif @jeshields; cartography by @DysonLogos; written by yours truly and the great Luau Lou Hoeffer; layout by @fossiesteele!
One of my favorite Fred Fields pieces for 2E AD&D. This evokes danger, mystery, adventure and the whimsy of magic all at once. Sensational.
Down in the Dungeon, by Don Greer. After all these years, these paintings still evoke a certain feeling of gaming nostalgia in me that is nearly unmatched. The art is raw and fledgling, but you can feel a real love for fantasy in it. Pure 💯.
Today’s #grindhousegold is 1971’s LAKE OF DRACULA, a Japanese Dracula flick that would be out of its f’n mind if it was any good. Corpse pianists! White coffins! Chest impalements! Bloody fangs… and lots of vampires! Stock standard vampire fare also known as THE VAMPIRE DOLL 🧛♂️
