@Claylex1 My OCs Twitch and Jolt (yellow and green respectively) were designed to debug Reploids to produce updates to reduce "Mavericks." Twitch is the latest test subject, while Jolt can influence Reploids' minds to simulate Maverick tendencies. Both were abused and eventually escaped.

Even for Zero. He looks great in an updated art style of course, but X1 Zero just seems so ready to go to war. I get a sense of "urgency" from older X series art that later styles rarely replicate, despite being artistically more impressive and clean

Here's X doing some similar poses. The older one just looks more gritty to me. I don't know how to describe it. He just looks "angrier" or something

Am I crazy? Or does earlier MegaMan X artwork feel more "badass" and "tough?" Something about it just feels more "grungy" and "edgy." Later art is still cool af, but I feel like it has less edge. Not saying it's bad at all! Just not as "intense." Maybe the art style?
