Buscema did great stuff. I think Priest (then James Owsley) is my fave writer on this. Only <20 issues w/ Buscema, but he kept me reading it when Buscema left after ~160 issues. Tight, twisting plots, direct, credible dialog. He wrote memorable new characters & kept Conan sharp.
@IowasJoe Keiron Dwyer's 1st comics gig. Later he did "Dark Knight, Dark City". And an excellent, career fave "Year 1" themed "Detective" annual. He also did a solid Cap run, & a lot of "mullet" Superman, I loved his art on his stepdad John Byrne's "Torch of Liberty".
@TrailerDrake I think this predates Roy's idea. He came to DC in the 80's, right? DC had already used Capt Marvel since the early 70's, & Capt Thunder before that. Still years after they bought him from Fawcett. I could also see a Black Capt Thunder in a green suit w. a red cape.
