During recent research into Teesside's Steel Heritage, together with @HeritageUnlockd, we uncovered this brilliant cartoon of steel magnate Sir Arthur Dorman, who died on this day in 1931.

On this day, in 1922, a fire broke out in the timber yard of Messrs George Horsley and Son in Hartlepool Docks.
The flames spread to nearby streets and caused millions of pounds worth of damage leaving many families homeless.
