After being shipwrecked off Africa, Edward Bawden ended up a prisoner of the Vichy French in Casablanca. Here he painted this painting"Interned British officers taking a weekly bath". The prisoners were mistreated and Bawden had a mistrust of the French for the rest of his life.
I just wondered what a medieval marketplace might have looked like, and it is more or less the same as today.
A new discovery for me: Caren Canier, is a native of New York City. She attended Cornell University, graduating with a BFA in Painting, and earned her MFA in Painting at Boston University. She studied with Philip Guston and James Weeks at BU and Gillian Pederson-Krag at Cornell.

Curious of where Eric Ravilious painted some of his works? or Edward Bawden, John Aldridge or others of the Great Bardfield artists? Well do enjoy the interactive map I have made using Google Maps. https://t.co/bCOl9IVody #greatbardfieldartists #ericravilious @Ravilious1942
