These are the two sketches that made me feel good about the composition. It was intended as portrait canvas icon piece. It was only after colouring that I realised it looked better with a wide canvas.

You enter the key into a moss-clad slot. It turns itself full circle. The door opens. Behind it is a narrow space lit only by the glow emanating from a floating figure in its center. The unmoving figure opens its glowing eyes. “Welcome delver. I have awaited your return".

I love how hard the new Grimlock toy's colours go so I updated my own work to match it.
