Birth of a New Britain
Oil on paper
21x15cm
I’m using headlines from newspapers circa 2016 as titles of some of my topiary paintings. Pre and post Brexit. Potent, divisive, persuasive. It’s a huge part of how we ended up where we are.
Alexis Soul Gray on at Liminal Gallery on Fort Hill in Margate, closes on Saturday. If you’re in Margate don’t miss it!
Matrescence with Catherine Lette, Sarah Maple, Jennifer Nieuwland and Anna Soul-Gray is on at Liminal Gallery until 27th November (open Thurs and Sat or by appointment).
Painting big (for me) for the first time in years. I normally paint 21x15cm, but this topiary painting is 84x59cm. It’s liberating to paint on that scale!

It’s a gorgeous day, so if you’re passing in your way to beach, do stop by to say hi! All welcome 💚🌟
