July's entry for the is policeman Eleazer Denning, who was Chief Inspector of the Palace of Westminster. As this cartoon from the 1880s shows, Denning was vital to the safe running of the Houses of Parliament.

Amongst the star-studded guest-list were famous boxers, known as pugilists, including black boxer, Bill Richmond. He was born a slave in America, became a famous boxer in England and invited to the coronation banquet.

in 1821 was the coronation of George IV and the last coronation banquet. The King along with others involved in the coronation processed from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey for the ceremony. Later processing back to the Hall for the banquet afterwards.

On 18 Nov 1910 over 300 women marched down to Parliament as part of suffragette demonstration, known as Black Friday. The demonstration was met with much violence from the police. This cartoon titled ‘The Modern Andromeda’ shows a Suffragette chained outside No 10.
