Last one. I was watching a ton of Star Trek while drawing these. Many late nights. Thanks to my editor @ms_brittanyjean for all the support, patience and good feedback. Thanks to @Ryambic for telling me about the project!
Sometimes I worry that these little snippets of story will get lost in the shuffle so I wanted to share them while they were fresh and maybe some folks will go out and get the issue; it's full of fun stuff.
It's a fable so I wanted it to feel dream-like and not use traditional panel borders. Ordinarily I'm very straightforward in my formatting because I don't like flashy/gimmicky layouts that don't serve the story. I think this approach does.
Drew some pages for the Wonder Girl annual (out now) written by @Joelle_Jones. I think the pages look pretty good and I'm proud to be in the issue along with a bunch of other great artists. I did my own colors (with flatting help from my brother @TheGabeFischer.) Enjoy!
He lived a block away. That was great for band practice but became grim as his condition declined. Now he will live in my heart as that little voice that says "fuck it, you only live once."
He did.
He lived the way he wanted to & that's what I'll remember most. 13/13
I enjoyed the first episode of House Of The Dragon. It does feel a bit like (I’d imagine) getting back together with an ex after a weird break-up that no one quite saw coming. I am a huge fan of the books. Maybe this time Lucy *doesn’t* pull away the football. Some old fan art:
It's funny when I see ads for Game Of Thrones streaming on HBO like they didn't take a vital cultural phenomenon & straight-up crash it into the side of apathy mountain. If you don't land the plane successfully it doesn't matter how great the take off was. Made these in 2019:
I made a solo series pitch a couple years ago (that was rejected.) Would've been a fantasy series w/ a Han Solo/Indy lead inspired by @kumailn. I'm still working on it to streamline it & scale down the plot but I thought it might be fun to share a few of those initial sketches:
I sing it this way every time.
My apologies to Kate Bush.
"Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making? (Ye-yeah, yeah, yo)"
My five favorite action movies. I watch any them time I want to remember great art mixed with childlike excess is possible:
1. Fury Road
2. Predator
3. Aliens
4. Hot Fuzz
5. Pacific Rim
