Manga! Manga! The World of Japanese Comics is also an interesting benchmark to see which classic, influential manga titles cited in this book are / are not yet available in English -- some only very recently. Get it now fr. @KODANSHA_EN https://t.co/fIh7YL78aP
@mashazart @ReadAzuki They’ve been steadily adding more! Just started reading Crescent Moon Marching by Hamachi Yamada on @ReadAzuki - a stressed out high school student visits her aunt and discovers the joy of music. Very cute art & promising story
@mashazart FWIW, @ReadAzuki has picked some great titles as exclusive content. My Dear Detective by Natsumi Ito is about a young woman detective in early Showa-era Japan is completely charming, both art & story-wise.
But let's not forget that when Shonen Jump first made the move from a monthly print magazine to digital back in 2012 (!), there was lots of naysaying, "why don't they..." talk. It took a lot of trial & error, but now (almost) everyone points to this as the manga app to live up to
This is my roundabout way of saying that I hope that @KMANGA_KODANSHA follows the flat-rate subscription/limited free reads model used by @shonenjump and @MangaPlusENG vs. a "pay-to-read" points/coin system. it feels like if they do anything less, fans will be disappointed
A thing that I've noticed is that "all-can-read" options for manga/webtoon apps doesn't stop readers from buying the printed books. Feb NPD Bookscan top 20 for "Author graphic novels" are dominated by webtoons featured on @tapas_app & @webtoon - https://t.co/4XIIyP3MGk
If you’re curious about the series from Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket (@magapoke) that may be a part of the @KMANGA_KODANSHA launch in May, go browse their Twitter feed. ICYMI - Wind Breaker is available now fr @KodanshaManga - https://t.co/DxBCDh0vWL https://t.co/ojx5olBwyb
Lots of buzz for this cute rom-com manga fr. @SquareEnixBooks thanks to the anime on @Crunchyroll - https://t.co/7HaJluqSmx | pre-order vol 1: https://t.co/EzL5n78e9U https://t.co/TWg2D9mLfv
