Fun fact: Series director for s1-s3 Susumu Mitsunaka is likely to thank for this quirk across the series. These cuts were all animated by different animators, some of which using this technique for the first time in their careers. Season 3 also used brush for it's visuals.

That being said Sui Ishida is my favorite in the entire industry when it comes to Covers and I don't think anyone comes close for me.....
Bonus points if it's a solo character cover, I prefer them by a large margin due to how crowded volume covers can usually be.
