I think Evangelion 3.0 and Evangelion 3.0+1.0 (typing this title always feels a bit ridiculous lol) are the best parts of the Rebuild franchise by far for what it brings to Evangelion and the execution being at the very top of the theatrical anime sphere. Great movies.
Evangelion 3.0 reworked the series from the ground up, both in a narrative sense and a production one, amongst other technical changes like the aspect ratio. Takeshi Honda's role as Chief Animation Director and all of these factors led to a fresh take on Evangelion being born.
God bless Evangelion 3.0+1.0 for taking a conscious effort to follow up Takeshi Honda's design philosophy from 3.0 and ensuring the series' best design choice was seen through to the end.
Sui Ishida has dropped some of the best foreshadowing I've seen in the TG manga so I'm expected this one to unfold nicely as well. Hoping it ages well like a lot of elements TG dropped throughout it's run that payed off 200+ chapters into it's run.
