this issue is by far my favorite... after continuous jumps between different times, this one stretches out a single good life: the tension in knowing that a sweet moment will soon close, yearning that makes your own heart hurt, that intensity in desperation at the end of it all.

the parts i love most about both bruce and selina become so poetic when they’re together: open angry wounds, incommunicable want for intimacy, how they cautiously expose their vulnerabilities by playing roles and acts (f. scott fitzgerald / jonathan carroll / catwoman vol. 3 #19)
devastating combo of great writing and its artistic vehicle — “you live a little bit of life, you think you’ve felt everything. but there’s nothing like someone crawling in your brain. scratching at the worst of you.”
production designer james chinlund: “hopper’s painting ‘nighthawks’ was very much in my mind when i designed the set, because i love the way the diner acts as a lamp […] a sort of fish tank with the riddler encased in glass, in this glowing space in a dark and rainy world.”
kids are curious explorers that observe and hold onto so many secret things, grown-ups try to listen yet forget the things they want to hold onto, life is confusing and restless, but as long as we navigate with love, we’ll be alright! (c’mon c’mon dir. by mike mills, 2021)
acne paper returning with a new issue around such a dreamy theme and includes work by lu yang? ordering this immediately for myself!
always loved how my favorite girl channeled the same dreaminess as one of my dearest artists’ works: fuijwara kaoru’s artbook, 2002 / krystal in the 4 walls photobook, 2015
