It's my birthday! 🎈

At first, it was based on three friends (which can be family too). We made a few iterations and style changes but we ultimately settled on the dad and kids one.

My task was to make illustrations out of some key moments in the storyboard that was provided. The main goal was to capture my distinct style for the animation. basically art direction stuff

When I do this, I'm usually thinking about how artists like JMW Turner used abstraction in representing real life. These are paintings of the sea. Life can be a pretty abstract place
