Before "2001," "Fantastic Voyage" tested the waters of serious sci-fi. To see FV, I engaged in serious begging, but my mom relinquished and I caught it in theaters at summer's end, 1966. It was brilliant and introduced me to the spectacular Raquel Welch. RIP Ms Welch.
Like those last two Heisei Godzilla films, pre-opening day tickets to the 90s Mothra films came with a colorful clear file. I saw all 3 Mothra films on opening day in Osaka and, truth be told, I haven't revisited them since. I need to rectify that. Here are scans I made tonight.
Decided to start scanning my older kaiju stuff and will share for the time being. These two are "clear files" (front & back covers) one got when buying advanced tickets for Space G ('94) & Destoroyah ('95). (Had to stick a sheet of paper in them to make them scannable.)
Been over 15 years but I recently passed thru Shiba Park (on way to Tokusatsu DNA), where I shot a major scene of "The iDol." Park's changed a bit, grass is covered over, & tree has grown. Here are shots comparing then to now. Get the SRS release already!

2021年の『ザ・スーサイド・スクワッド』は1953年の『惑星アドベンチャー スペース・モンスター襲来!』をただ豪華にしただけ。
I caught "Superman" when it opened back in Dec 1978. The build-up to when Superman first flies was nerve-racking. When he finally took off, it was like nothing anyone had seen before. For the first time, I truly believed a man could fly. Rest In Peace Richard Donner.
『アーミー・オブ・ザ・デッド』観たよ。変態仮面そっくりなの出てたけどオマージュかな?ハハハ(乾いた笑い)
