all those Super Saiyan 5 fan-arts from years ago are leagues cooler than any transformation they've come up with since GT. fuck a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Blue
And if you confuse any of these with Ao no Hako - Blue Box, the basketball/badminton anime currently running in Shonen Jump, then shame on you!
Be Blues - Ao ni Nare, the soccer manga, is ending after over a decade of serialization!
Not to be confused with Ao Ashi, the soccer manga, which got an anime this April.
ALSO not to be confused with Blue Lock, the soccer manga, which has an anime this October.
@DaquiAPouquin sure, but as I said - I think new Digimon still deliberately utilize those classic design motifs (the veins, scars, belts, tattered cloth).
Certainly, I see more in common than comparing Gen 1 to Gen 8 Pokemon.
@DaquiAPouquin my hypothesis is that Digimon has been more consistent with sticking to the design motifs it established early on, which is why modern Digimon still "look like Digimon".
of course, it helps that the definition of "what is a Digimon" is more broad than a Pokemon.
ELEMENTAL EGGS
fire/water/electric is a classic Pokemon trio, and these three each embody this by being a 2-stage dude with their element clearly drawn on their egg-shaped body.
You know what, yeah. Let's just two another badass Pokemon that slashes you with double-claws. Just make the new one speedy instead of tanky, so it grows feathers instead of spikes. Feel free to re-use the same shapes, though.
