On Saturday 11/19 we are screening two of Akira Kurosawa’s best films on 35mm, Stray Dog and High and Low! We’ve been lucky to have a number of great artists contribute to our Kurosawa screenings with limited-edition posters and a commemorative t-shirt. Available in our store!
10/15 at 6pm @ Million Dollar Theater comic book artist Mike Mignola joins us for a Q&A about his process, his love of cinema, and thoughts on the intersection of comics, art, and cinema! We will be showing the 1931 classic Frankenstein before on 35mm.
"It doesn't do any good to say, 'This is what it means.' When you are spoon fed a film, people instantly know what it is. I like films that leave room to dream."

Artist Roland Topor lived a fascinating & full life; though he was mainly an artist & animator (including on FANTASTIC PLANET, screening on 35mm this Saturday, June 11th @ 8pm), he also wrote novels, including The Tenet that would be adapted into film itself.
