Realized why Thomas Kinkade paintings are uncanny: If the lights are electricity these houses are very wasteful. If this is the age of candles, all these houses are actually on fire.
This doesn't mean buying billboards, making infographics, inventing acronyms, and arguing with people. It means, at the very minimum, telling better stories.
The folk future, one that actually includes people in it, is the most important vision of the world we have yet to create.
The aesthetics of progress are still some of the lowest hanging fruit that we have to pick!

I hope that the future is more green, dirty, cozy, and mysterious than anything we've dreamed up lately. I hope its nature displays our inexhaustible fruitfulness and charms. Instead of striving towards some clean minimalism, we should strive to have gardens worth cultivating.
