The last of the Seven Last Words is Jesus's complete surrender and entrusting of oneself to the Father. It is the completion of the Son of Man's mission on Earth to redeem mankind from sin.
Christ expresses His physical suffering as He asks for a drink. As He desires His thirst to be quenched, He manifests His humanness and vulnerability.
May the Year of the Metal Ox bless us with good fortune and peace. May we also engage in acts of generosity in helping others. Happy Chinese New Year, Thomasians!
