2017: Nier: Automata. it could be nothing but this. i played some other really good games from this year but nothing even stands a chance next to automata. what a fucking masterpiece

2017: Doki Doki Literature Club.
Meta Visual novel game that deals with mental health issues, consent and control, and poetry. really cool small story. the plus version that came out in 2021 adds extra plot and stuff. worth a check if you can stomach the triggers.

2017: This year had big hitters with Mario+Rabbids & Sonic Mania but unfortunately for them, Persona hit the big time with the sixth mainline title and my GOTY - Persona 5. Obviously Royal is the better version but this was Persona's big break and I couldn't be happier with it.

2017: So the best film would be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, I don't really watch Marvel stuff but I thought it was a great film (better than the first one actually) BUT I also wanna shout out Lupin the Third: Goemon's Blood Spray for being a not quite feature-length OVA.
