Rather pleasing to read that Ingres was so influenced by the fresco of Odysseus & Penelope found in the Macellum in that he made use of her pose in his represention of Stratonice in the painting ‘The Sickness of Antiochus’.

This one is Antiochus, a Half-Satyr. As he grew up with his human side family he wasn't much in touch with Satyr culture. But his dad went to solve it sending him a clothing suitable to a viril satyr of his age.

That is a personal piece for a change! I Loved working on it!
