I'm not very good at regulating how much force I use. It's either too much or too little.

I drop my phone several times a day so it needs a strong protective case. It may not be pretty, but it saves me a ton of money on repairs.

Marriage equality isn't achieved until disabled people can get married without losing their benefits.

The only reason my partner and I got married was because I needed a marriage visa to move to China with them.

Adulthood really sucks sometimes, especially when you're sick.

Why do some neurotypicals find it so hard to believe that autistic adults used to be autistic children? Do they not know how aging works?

It's so infuriating how people or organizations will make a post saying they want to help autistic people, but the second autistic people leave comments giving suggestions those comments are deleted.

They say they want to help us, but they just silence us.

Saying I did something rude, and then not telling me what that rude thing was, is really rude.

If I had grown up knowing what non-binary was I would have come out so many years ago.

If you leave me to my own devices during a conversation I can send it to some magical places.

Sometimes my brain shuts off and I just go through the motions. Of course when that happens I'm prone to skip some steps.

I will say, a bonus to wearing a mask is that no one can tell if I'm smiling or not.

But yeah, if you tell me to smile I will make sure you regret it.

Just because someone prefers to call themself a person with autism doesn't make them the enemy or "The Other". They're part of our community. Let's treat them with the same kindness and understanding we would like to be treated with.

I hate liquid medicine! I'd rather be sick! At least gel capsules exist.

Here in China the medicine tastes so much worse than the medicine in Canada! So much worse!!!

Really hoping I get over this cold soon. It really sucks.

When everything is silent is when my brain gets the chance to wander, and that's always a bad thing.

(Just a note: this isn't my brain wanting death, but simply being curious about it. I'm okay.)

Why yes! I do take things literally! Sometimes it can make things pretty awkward, but other times, not so much.

I learned how to pirate when I was kid back in the Napster and Limewire days. These skills have served me well while living in China where most movies I want to see never come to theatres.

Sometimes I have trouble watching scenes from movies or shows, and a majority of the time it's because those scenes set off a huge feeling of vicarious embarrassment. It's one of the many reasons I can't stand romantic comedies.

For some strange reason there are people who believe that they have a right to see your diagnosis to prove you're not self-diagnosed.

1. Self-diagnosis is valid.

2. No one has a right to see your diagnosis if they're not your doctor.

The Lancet's report has some good things in it, it really does, but all the talk about wanting Profound Autism to become a separate diagnosis taints it, and feels like such a step back. 1/2

I find that if a loved one is depressed my depression kind of gets pushed to the back of my mind in order to help the other person. It's not exactly the healthiest way of dealing with my own depression.
