Happy 35th anniversary Street Fighter. Thank you for changing my life, all the way back to seeing you at the Pro Park in Midlothian in 1992 and falling for you proper with Bengus' gorgeous SF2T artwork in EGM. My dad buying the Gamepro guide is still a fond childhood memory.
@TheChaseConley I’m going to say K from KOF.
Or anything by Bengus
Look, Mike isn't a great SF character but Bengus you didn't have to make him both terrifying and racist at the same.
Bengus is one of my favorite character designers, he definitely knows how to create life through anatomy and drawing. If you have some time, go and check his work.
Back in time I was focused on painting and not drawing, nice render and poor structure (big mistake). My characters had volume but they didn't look organic at all. Which is one of my favorite things about Bengus's work, the dynamism of his characters.
How studying Bengus, one of the artist of my favorite game (Street Fighter) helped me to improve my style 🧵
Bengus' 1993 art of Akuma for Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers.
Artists at Capcom did an amazing job with the art made for Capcom Fighting Collection!!!
Artists who made them are Chisato Mita, Tamio, Bengus and Sakutamo!

if you COULDNT tell, certain capcom artists from around the early 2000s are a big inspo for me and my artsyle (Edayan, Bengus, Daigo Ikeno)

the individual Story modes for each character attempted to replace the "arcade" experience by giving voiced slide-shows in between fights. But the fights were insultingly easy, and only like 2-3 of them.
and the artwork was not Bengus' best efforts.
