Earnestly, my favorite is any type of speech bubble, but done in an avant garde manner. Examples from A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversible by and Not Included by . There is beauty here.

Visual connectivity is key to conveyance - which is that if you can see the source of dialogue, it becomes easy to make clear they are the source of the your text speech. Careless obfuscation hampers your readability - something you never want as a creator.

I draw them digitally - while my art is done in Clip Studio Paint, lettering and bubbles are done in Affinity Designer, which allows for clean scaling of the text without quality loss.
