#onthisday in 1731, Daniel Defoe died. Defoe owned property in Colchester & likely lived here for a period, partly setting his novel Moll Flanders in the town.
He said "Colchester is an ancient corporation; the town is large, very populous; the streets fair and beautiful..."
Michael Pare, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, Willem Defoe, Amy Madigan, Rick Rossovich and Bill Paxton all star in Walter Hill's 1984 underrated Rock n' Roll Fable - Streets Of Fire. I loved this movie as a kid and re-watching it had me fall in love with it all over again.
