Fact there is 4 f.y.e. (For Your Entertainment) discs of Family Guy, these would usually be DVDs with 2-3 episodes. Other than the awesome cover art they had for these, it was usually episodes which were on DVD already. All these images are the covers of the DVDs. (1/2)

I've been rewatching my Doug DVDs again and it reminded me that I didn't share this fan art here yet! Childhood favorites are always fun to draw!

Anyone got experience doing manual colour/white balance correction on old DVDs (ideally with a frame server)? Got a video that's filled with full range conversions, colours being all kinds of whack, and more automatic solutions I know of not really working.

Did you know that Sonic SatAM was released as a 4 disc box set in Korea, which pre-dated the American/UK release box set?

Released on November 9, 2005, this box set was composed of 4 discs which contained the full SatAM series. Oddly enough, however, the DVDs did not contain-

So this is...kind of crazy. I decided to test my original DVDs from Bandai Entertainment, against the shots I made with the Funimation-released DVDs. The ones from Bandai seem to stay with the original aspect ratio (left), while Funimation doesn't always keep it (right).

Going after manga pirates while "officialy licenced publishers":

Censor content over political / religious reasons
Refuse to publish chapters over "moral grounds"
Sometimes give outright wrong translations
Region lock other countries on their streaming platform/ DVDs.

Here is how much anime used to cost in the 90ies/early 00’s. Before DVDs, you had to choose between dub or sub, with the subbed tapes being more expensive, and each tape was 2-3 episodes long. Long shows like Evangelion were expensive to collect and took YEARS to complete. 💀

My supply of dvds to borrow dried up very quickly so I had a patchwork supply of early Youtube, random anime streaming sites with incomplete series, poor internet streaming quality making episodes take 3 hours to watch, and a recorded vhs copy of Endless Waltz on Toonami.
