‘Little Ida’s Flowers’ is the tale of a young girl who discovers her flowers are wilting because they exhausted themselves dancing at a magical ball. It is one of Hans Christian Andersen’s first fairytales, published 8th May 1835. It mentions 17 types of flower.

I was lucky that my mom exposed me to lots of folklore, fairytales, and artists when I was a kid. As a young adult, it was always bubbling in the background. Now as I work on my own stories, I see how much came from those early experiences.
