I guess what I'm trying to say is I always felt the complaints that Classic Mega Man shouldn't evolve were downright silly, especially when other IPs including, Mario, Sonic and even Pac-Man were changing their mainline direction and making a new modern identity for themselves.

notes about sceptile bc im still getting accustomed to draw it:
shape is based around pokkén sceptile (taller and leaner), mainline sceptile is shorter and chunkier (albeit cuter)

ideally albas sceptile has to be middleground between the two

funnytrain theory: being a western engine had a lot more relevance to not taking the trio's shit than you might initially think. many large GWR stations had no dedicated pilot, & instead asigned a mainline engine to fill the role for the day. "tender engines don't shunt" indeed!
