My current WIP is this illustration of a trope in Palestinian folktales. You often have the main characters climb a palm tree to sleep in for the night where they can be safe from wild animals... and djinn. :D

The Bride is a being from Palestinian folklore, a sort of siren/vampire. She lures cishet men and drains their energy. In one tale, a woodcutter was wasting away until a woman followed him into the woods and discovered The Bride feeding on him.
