❣️: With regards to style, my biggest inspo is Chiara Bautista. Her ideas and her style just embody the perfect mix of realism and stylisation

As for lineart— it has to be Jen Bartel. I love using lines in my hair, I love how she translates realistic proportions into solid lines https://t.co/wsMHqWE3Xt

..I’ve been poring over it for years now, but it wasn’t until recently I really LOOKED at his work and realised where I’d been going wrong: I was adding more and more details trying to prefect everything, but a lot of the beauty in his work is the simplification and stylisation!

Since when did comic art become life drawings? Thin waist, big eyes, large hands, big heads. It's called stylisation and it's been part of art, design, and comics for years. You don't have to like it, but you have to accept it.

Definitely intentional painterly stylisation... definitely not gif compression....

Exotic Ingredients is probably my favourite adventure, so in creating new art for it I tried to push myself a little with character design, stylisation and colour. I quite like how it came out.

My style is influenced a lot by illuminated manuscripts and stained glass windows. It shows mostly in the borders, shapes and some of the stylisation of my creatures.
I take a lot of photos, visit museums, and research online and in books. I love visual research! ❤️

Thought I’d do ‘s (A girl wearing Breton costume by Élisabeth Sonrel) & try & practice stylisation when years of realistic portraiture have made me default to ‘perfect replica’ 😬 Timelapse at https://t.co/ye17vY5CJG 💜

Quick sketch between work of my OC "Noa"! I have been experimenting a lot with stylisation recently and doing this was a lot of fun😊 More to come!❤️

It seems it's time to practise stylisation for both of us - Ayrin and me, so Ayrin experimented with Ignis for a bit. =)
And a sneak peek under her mask.
