I got a new fan theory. Ben made the Biomnitrix for taking down Vilgax. Since Vil's new body was developed for combat against Ben's transformations, Ben would need something new to get the edge. So if his normal alien forms weren't doing the job alone why not put them together?

He was originally thought up as a sassy little lady imp, which is were the Midna inspiration came in. If you've read my comic pages where he appears you'll see that a lot of that idea did not stick.

Vilgax was just a visual inspiration. Ford is far from as cool as he is.
