Today is tradition in Italy to hang socks (to a fire or Christmas tree) so in the night Befana comes with gifts if you are good and charcoal if you are bad .. it’s easier trust in every one has a grumpy old but sweet lady that loves you

Don't forget to thank La Befana, the Italian Christmas Witch! She was asked to deliver gifts to Baby Jesus, and she passed on it.

Later on, she changed her mind - but it was January 6th by then - so she decided instead to give her gifts to the children of Italy instead.
