@reverendDooms I recommend these 4.
Red Son is a elseworlds tale, Superman lands in mother Russia
MoS the John Byrne retcon
Then the collection of Alan Moore tales, you'll see why he's one of the best
And Tom King's tale which is an uplifting story, more about hope.
Prompted by this flick through to see who the "all-star pinups" were by. Look! All stars. Kaluta, Romita and Byrne! Nice https://t.co/KwHHTOcp8j

Utterly thrilled to have just caught the incredible John Byrne exhibition in time at @KelvingroveArt Only two more days left folks to see so much work from one of our country’s greatest living artists. Get there!
Back from the Kelvin Grove and the John Byrne exhibition. Kept going out and then back in later as too much artistic ability to digest in one go. Liked his story boards for the slab boys - better than many comicbook artists. This drawng of Tilda wasn't there.
Crazy busy, here’s something special, Walt Simonson Ragnarok. Simonson is next level, he does the pencils and inks and scripts as well. Like Byrne, he has a clear vision and executes it. And he just keeps getting better.
I'm still seeing people mad that She-Hulk twerked. As a fan of the character since 1987, I will tell you I'd have paid the Disney+ fee JUST to see She-Hulk twerk. (also, once, John Byrne got away with a nip slip in the comic & it exploded heads across the land.)
But looked at in full Davis is also playing with the compositions of the OHOTMU vol 2 covers, mostly by Byrne and Rubenstein. Excalibur against a universe of weirdos. It’s a pinnacle of fun at a time when mainstream comics were sinking into darkness. 3/3
