It is still one of the few games on the C64 that I can't technically fault in any way. It's almost flawless. (Though I could do with it being a teeny bit easier.) 😁 Since I don't have those lightning gaming reflexes I had as a kid, I cruised though with collisions turned off. 😉

New banner, and a new shield!

Essentially, the shield is an undead bug, which I've named "Blanket Stinger."
It avoids any collisions with the character's wings, unlike other shields, and can be used as a sheath. Additionally, The stinger can be used paralyzing foes in combat.

kinda subtle but you can see the per-pixel alpha-based collisions i added a couple weeks ago + some new animations

things still look pretty messy but im finally at a good place to work on art again :3

That was a hot second, but behaviours are done! This is starting to feel like routine. Collisions (and projectiles in this case), move on the next boss, rinse and repeat.

gnrgh, i gave lexy a recoil frame but i can't make her bounce along the ground because movement only exposes the collisions you get /after/ sliding along surfaces, at which point the downwards velocity is already lost

but here it is anyway
