I LOVED the colors in KOF XII! They did this really cool thing where they'd occasionally super-saturate the edge of certain shadows and contours. Look at Ash's face, hair, and even his 2 pixel wide fingers and how they have this beautiful sub surface scattering effect to em!

Step 4: create a multiply layer that clips to your sequins and using the same teal as dark sequins, follow the contours of the body w/ transparent watercolor brush to create shading over the sequins and amplify the illusion of volume. Left is white to show path, right is w/color.

Step 2: draw a bajillion lil white dots. I started out trying to map the contours of the body with the sequins, but gave up since doing so created void spaces that didn't look good without something to fill them. Keep in mind how the fabric bunches/stretches & space accordingly.
