It's already Apr 6 in JP. When first aired today 35 yrs ago, I was finishing HS. Luckily, some yrs later a grainy VHS copy made its way to our uni dorm where I got hooked watching with others on a small TV. It's been always with me.

このイラストに粒状感を加えることで、より昭和の美学を表現しています。気に入りました。
I added a grainy effect onto this illustration, it adds a bit more of a showa era aesthetic style to it. I like it. https://t.co/bNKtmnzJvA

"But what you expect to be grainy dirt are actually reptiles that entwine and bind you. Your hands are coiled by cool scales. Entrancing and atrocious at the same time."

Here's my baby with angel wings! I smoothed out the grainy look on the drawing with a blur tool and added some glow to the mix, and added an overhead light above her! Tell me what you think in the comments! :)

"Abnormal Penguin"

- Deranged face, sharp teeth, nose holse, bags under eyes, bleeding white eyes.
- A Red tie
- Two strange grainy substances. Almost like hairballs.

For base layers, instead of a soft rounded brush, I mainly use a soft, roughly rectangular-shaped brush & apply a grainy texture to it.
I find it adds a nice amount of rawness while still blending smoothly when needed!
