I think my least liked thing about Super Metroid was that they still tried to have Kraid on the NA box by cramming his feet in the foreground instead of just putting him in the background.
The background that, mind you, uses his color palette in the JP box art.
Metroid: Zero Mission Kraid is another great example of how to animate huge sprites with minimal redrawing, notice that most of his movement is achieved via sliding static parts around, in fact the only bits which really use more than one frame are his head and belly buttons
@BRacoondog Ah good ol Kraid. I actually made a creature based on Kraid, but mix him up with another character named Modo from The Legendary Starfy. This is how they look like!

4. This is probably the spiciest thing I'll put on this list (So far) but I'm not a huge Metroid kind of guy? But we have Ridley, Kraid has a stage... Give Crocomire something! He's a cool dude, he's all red and big. He can probably do some neat things in Sakurai's hands!
