I often find ghosts are better implied than depicted literally, but I am fond of Inger Edelfeldt's portrayal (c.1985). I also like Joan Wyatt's classical-style shades (1979), and Victor Ambrus' phantom warriors from A Tolkien Bestiary (photo to come sometime soon)
