This piece is one of my favs, I did a long process of layering 2d and 3d, then I have converted the file to pure data and applied a sound reverb and delays, and all the little color errors and textures you see are generated on that way 🥷🚀

so really rather than just blending a bunch of colors with one brush you're more layering them on whatever you're using as a flat base, blending them with the base, and using blended parts to colorpick midtones

Dublin has lots of Connemara marble. This beauty shows refolding of a tectonic layering, with an axial planar fabric starting to form (dark vertical lines).
The whole area is a classic of multi-stage folding - see diagram showing similar mapped folds (x10,000 bigger).
