Aitvaras, nature spirit in Lithuanian mythology. Artwork by me.

In many cases, this Lithuanian creature is described as a bird or a dragon. I decided to create a mix between a snake and a rooster.:)

So I saw Mashed Potato today and just wanted to draw my own, and so I can keep drawing him, I made him Ausra's pet. So here is Cepelinai (a Lithuanian potato dish to go along with the potato dish name), a fluffy puppy who is too cute to exist.

Breed is Chow Chow btw

The Žiburinis is a vengeful spirit from Lithuanian folklore that appears as a burning or glowing skeleton, often someone who was murdered or died unbaptized. They appeared near rivers and streams and could turn someone to ash with a single touch 💀

"His spear might be harmless at first glance, but its true power are real deal."

Drawing of Lithuania (pose practice) wielding his spear powered by Gabija, named after the Lithuanian spirit of fire. I love how this turned out hehe :)

Writing about the folklore of fungi today and love this bit of Lithuanian lore: Mushrooms were thought to be the fingers of Velnias, the Baltic god of death, reaching up from the Underworld and offering his fungi fingers as food for the poor.
