I'm deep in the hole researching mandrakes (humanoid, quasi-sentient plants). Barthélemy d'Herbelot relates that after the Fall, Adam has a wet dream. When "the fecund seed of our first father fell on the earth," the mandrake was formed. So now you know! 🌱
Fun fact: Sergio Leone wanted to adapt The Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, and Flash Gordon at various points. He came close to making Flash Gordon but didn't like how the script strayed from the source material.

#ScribbleSupport time! Actually finished this week, for the prompt, "Paladin, Mandragoria, Grimoire," so I designed a little Mandrake lady who protects my gardens, looking in my grimoire at my notes on her. I love her dearly, and she was so fun to design!
