i see people saying we need ai art because its "more accessible". art is the most accessible hobby in the world, pick up a pencil.

Art is a skill that everyone can learn! Some might be a bit more adept at an early age but the only way to improve is through hard work. The myth of talent has discouraged so many art lovers from picking up a pencil.

2010 vs 2022
I couldn't find anything from 2012 because I stopped painting in 2011. After 4 years I returned to painting and since then I've been working, learning and making progress each time I picked up a pencil.

2010 > 2015 > 2020 > 2022

I dont have anything to share pre digital time but ive done art since I could hold a pencil. So for 25+ years ive worked hard to get to where I am today and continue to improve so I can draw new things ✌️

I will never let go, my last breath will be at the end of a pen or a pencil...

I started drawing when I was little after my dad taught me how to hold a pencil. He inspires me every single day and supported my growth as an artist. He is no longer with us but I hope he is watching down at me still working hard to make my dreams come true. I miss him every day https://t.co/eM7cKhuaj6

if you wanna have a drawing and don’t wanna pay for it, pick up a damn pencil. We all start somewhere.

Here is this morning’s daily drawing.
(I do a daily drawing about once a week and call it a daily drawing — both to put pressure on myself to draw more, and make it sound like I’m drawing all the time. I’m not.)
Ink and lazy color pencil.

Literally spent 2.5 hours just fussing with the angle transition on this roof, and it is just now *finally* starting to look reasonable... It's simpler in many aspects, but you really can't just 'fudge the lines' in pixel art the way you can with a pencil.

The Wizard, my latest painting. 10 x 12, watercolor and pencil. Working on this little guy and his cricket friend was a nice escape this week. Hope to add to his story with more paintings when I think of more ideas!
