Extra food for thought on Spinosaurus, the caudal material we have from other spinosaurids doesn't really preclude a similar condition...

Spinosaurus, requested by and ! Colours (loosely) based on sockeye salmon. I always felt that Spinosaurids didn’t get enough love!

And no, I’m clearly not against making colorful dinosaurs. I just think it depends on what story you’re trying to promote with the species you’re illustrating.
In this case, spinosaurids evolved these huge sails and characteristic skull crests. What for? Probs display.

“Never thought I’d die fighting side by side with a spinosaurid.”
“Then what about side by side with a friend?”
“...aye. I could do that.”

Wildly off, as it turns out! Spinosaurus was thought to be a carnosaur like allosaurus and kin, when it was actually a derived enough megalosauroid to be considered a crown member of its own clade; the spinosauridae. Pictured is an older reconstruction next to one from 2017.

Since almost all tetrapods, had/have lips covering their teeth it would take more evidence than just having an odd skull shape and being semiaquatic to justify reconstructing Spinosaurids without any lips. Even most semiaquatic animals have covered teeth, like hippos. (3/6)

Day 7 (Night) 😊 - Reuploaded since I forgot goofy spinosaurid teefs.
A suchomimus enjoys a rare peaceful night. I realised after that it was a little too brightly lit but okay just pretend this is Tamriel. 😅
*(I don't have a dinosaur problem)*

Day 29: Injured.

A seriously injured spinosaurid Oxalaia quilombensis has a nasty battle by other kind during the mating dominated.

Introducing Sushosaurus, a new type of spinosaurid found in the Rumathian mountain range's highland swamps. This large carnivore will be debuting in Carnivores: Fallen Kings!

Today’s quick sketch. Baryonyx walkeri fishing lunch. Like other Spinosaurids, Baryonyx had a very elongated snout and powerful arms with very long claws. Very different from the Baryonyx that appeared recently in the trailer
